Kubili (Cubilia cubili)

Outplanted my lone Kubili (Cubilia cubili). Kubili is a tree growing 25 - 50 metres tall. The bole can be up to 75cm in diameter, with buttresses up to 6 metres high. The edible seeds and leaves are gathered from the wild and consumed locally. This specimen came from the mother tree at MisOr thru the generosity of our SONATA master Melbert Baul. πŸ’•πŸŒ±πŸŒ³

The pods of Sabidukong (Telosma procumbens) finally starts to dry and is ready to harvest for additional planting soon, this pod is from its flowers last August of 2022. Vidals Lanutan (Hibiscus campylosiphon)

Vidals Lanutan (Hibiscus campylosiphon) on the temporary plastic pot for propagation. This is a medium-sized tree (up to 15m tall) endemic to the Philippine Islands. Hibiscus campylosiphon furnishes a moderately hard wood that was used in the manufacture of carriage shafts, musical instruments, boat oars and baseball bats. Rope made from the bast possessed considerable strength, and the bark was woven into hats. 😍🌱🌳

Hibiscus campylosiphon has large red-centered flowers (up to 8cm) that open white in the morning, sometimes turning to pink as the day progresses.

Planting materials will be soon available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

White Lauan (Shorea contorta)

The best time to outplant these White Lauan (Shorea contorta) with the onset of rainy season as they are rain feed only. White Lauan is one of the native species that I plant in large number along with Toog, Lumbayao, Ypil and Dangula. ❤️🌱🌳

The straight bole nature of White Lauan makes it perfect for commercial lumber production after 10-15yrs.

White Lauan seedlings are still available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.
