Marula (Sclerocarya birrea)

Fruits of Marula (Sclerocarya birrea). This is indigenous to the miombo woodlands of Southern Africa, the Sudano-Sahelian range of West Africa, the savanna woodlands of East Africa and Madagascar. 

The fruit is traditionally used for food in Africa, and has considerable socioeconomic importance. 😍🌱🌳

Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata)

Harvesting the dried pods of Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata). Dried beans can be powdered and make into a nutritious drink. Young green pods are for culinary purposes. 💕🌱👍

Bayag-usa (Voacanga globosa)

Flowering Bayag-usa (Voacanga globosa). This is endemic in the Philippines and sometimes ornamentally cultivated for its flowers. The fruit is used as antidote for food poisoning.

Black Sapote (Diospyros nigra)

Surviving the dry spell. One of my Black Sapote (Diospyros nigra) now at 5ft tall after 17mos on the ground. 

This is from the 2 kilos of fruits I ordered somewhere in Luzon 2 years ago. 💕🌱🌳

Outplanted December of 2022 from less than a foot tall seedling.

Malaysian Jade Rambutan

Malaysian Jade Rambutan fruiting after 2 years  on the ground. 😍🌱🌳

Kayumanis (Clausena anisum-olens)

On the ground is Kayumanis or also known as Kalomata (Clausena anisum-olens). It is a small tree up to 6mtrs in height. 

Native to the Philippines, Borneo and Taiwan. Leaves used as a condiment in preparing local dishes and beverages. Fruits are edible. 💕🌱🌳

Ormoc Queen Pineapple

After 50 days the roots have developed from the crown of the Ormoc Queen Pineapple. Time to outplant the sweetest pineapple in the world. 🍍🍍🍍

These are some bring home pineapples from my trip to Ormoc City in Leyte last March.

This variety is finally added in the pineapple collection of BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM .

Flowering Balai-lamok (Crateva religiosa). This is native to tropical Asia and several South Pacific islands. It can grow up to 15mtrs tall. 💕🌱🌳
