Let's start the 2026 with a rare fruit on the ground! This is Padau also known as Squirrel's Jack (Artocarpus kemando). Fruits are green to yellow-skinned with a mild, somewhat melon-like flavor. Harvested from the wild for its edible fruit and latex, consumed locally. It will take 4-5 years before fruiting time. ππ±π³

Eviarc Jackfruit
Ripe fruit of Eviarc Jackfruit variety. I have tried it many times before but this is my first time to try the uneven ripening of the fruit where the lower portion of the fruit is sweeter and the upper portion is bland.
