Alingatong

A 4 year old flowering Alingatong (Dendrocnide meyeniana) also known as stinging nettle. The plant is known for its tiny stinging hairs that cause a burning sensation, swelling, and redness upon contact. It is a traditional medicinal plant in the Philippines, especially known in the Visayas, used primarily as a root tea to treat kidney issues, high blood pressure, and arthritis. The roots are boiled and consumed.
