Vuyavuy Palm (Phoenix loureiroi)

Transplanted my Vuyavuy Palm (Phoenix loureiroi) on a bigger pot for the meantime. This is native to the Philippines and also to other Southeast asian countries. 

Fruits are edible and taste sweet. The apical bud is also edible and eaten a vegetable. 😍🌱💕

Bago-Tambis (Syzygium sp.)

My Bago-Tambis (Syzygium sp.) @6months on the ground. This is grown from a batch of seeds almost 3 years ago. This is a flowering native tree with edible fruits. 😍🌱🌳

Gardening time

Gardening time with my son Bovith. One of the best way to spend time together is by planting something on our garden. This will train his young mind the importance of producing and growing our own vegetables for food.

We planted some Ampalaya or Bitter Gourd seeds that pre-germinated already by soaking the seeds to water for 48hours. 

Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata)

The first step towards sustainability is growing your own vegetables. 

I've been growing this Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata) for more than 3 years now. 

Sword bean seeds and pods are edible and nutritious they are used for culinary purpose and can replace broadbeans in many recipes. 😍🌱🌿

Jurema (Mimosa hostilis)

One of my Jurema (Mimosa hostilis) after 17mos on the ground. 

This is native to the northeastern region of Brazil. It is a nitrogen fixer and a good source of fodder for animals. It is also an important source of forage for bees, especially during the dry season. A tea can be made of the leaves and stem to treat tooth pain.

Balonsaging (Phytocrene macrophylla)

Outplanted a new climber with edible fruit in my collection. This is Balonsaging (Phytocrene macrophylla). 

The juvenile Balakat (Ziziphus talanai) will serve as its starting point. 

This will be the 18th vine species that I am growing here with the exception of vegetables, 12 of those are with edible fruits. 🌿💕

Blue Java "Ice Cream" Banana

Blue Java "Ice Cream" Banana on the ground. 

This is known for its sweet aromatic fruit with an ice cream-like flavor. 😋🍌💕

BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM will macro-propagate some corms soon for future source of planting materials of this banana variety.

Anang (Diospyros pyrrhocarpa)

One of my Ebony species at 40 months on the ground. This is Anang (Diospyros pyrrhocarpa). 

It's already a bit taller than me, closer to 6ft tall now. 

Outplanted from a tiny seedling way back 2020.

The fruit of Anang is edible, not so juicy but taste sweet. 😋

Matoa (Pometia pinnata)

Season ending for Matoa (Pometia pinnata) also known as Fijian Longan or Island Lychee. Taste sweet even if its a little bit dry compare to the Longan (Dimocarpus longan).

Heavy flowers of Matoa during its season and it is most loved by the local pollinators.

Very useful tree and can be a plantation species not only for its edible fruits but also for its premium hardwood lumber. 💕🌱🌳

Bagawak-Morado (Clerodendrum quadriloculare)

Propagating the runners of Bagawak-Morado (Clerodendrum quadriloculare). 

This is native to the Philippines and New Guinea used mostly in garden cultivation for its beautiful flowers. In some places, considered a highly invasive perennial shrub, attributed to its producing large amounts of seed that grows rapidly by sprouts and root suckers. ❤️🌱🌳

Kembayau (Dacryodes rostrata)

Young germinants of Kembayau (Dacryodes rostrata) ready for transfer to their individual polybag for nursery. This fruit is native to Philippines and Borneo. Fruit pulp and seeds are edible. 😍🌱🌳

Uprooted from the common pot. Its aroma is strong enough to attracts some ants.
