Paratungon (Salacca ramosiana)

Trying to germinate the seeds from the ripe fruit of Paratungon (Salacca ramosiana), it is a species of palm under the family Arecaceae/Palmae.

It fruits grow in clusters at the base of the tree. The fruits are deep orange colored with prickly and scaly skin. The taste is sour and is potential for wine making. This is reported to be an endemic species in the Philippines while the Salak (Salacca zalacca), commonly referred to as the “snake fruit”, is native to Indonesia. 😍🌱💕

BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM soon will outplant a few specimen to be added on the food forest.
