Blood Lily or Fireball Lily (Scadoxus multiflorus) are now growing wild here since the bulb if cut into pieces and thrown away can easily grow into a new plant. The species is native to tropical and southern Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula. It is primarily a plant of moist, shady habitats, including savannah woodlands and forests along rivers and mountains. This is toxic containing poisonous alkaloids, it is used as a component of arrow poisons and fishing poisons.
