Canistel (Pouteria campechiana)

Fruit from my young tree. Canistel (Pouteria campechiana). The pulp is creamy, smooth, and very sweet, often compared to custard, pumpkin pie, or a hard-boiled egg yolk. Canistel is an excellent source of beta-carotene (which converts to Vitamin A), Vitamin C, calcium, iron, and phosphorus. It is known for its high fiber content and potential to help manage blood sugar.
