Day 2 — Agarwood Training in Ormoc

Actual demonstration on drilling holes of the Aquilaria tree for inoculation. This is a private farm in Ormoc City where Aquilaria malaccensis is intercrop with some fruit trees. ❤️🌱🌳

Agarwood master from Thailand Witsawa Sripetkla showed us his technique on drilling and inoculation of the Aquilaria tree.

The result of inoculation is evident when you peel off the bark.

Hundreds of Aquilaria trees are planted in this private farm.

Seedlings are nursed and prepared for planting this coming rainy season.

Bong Tree (Nothaphoebe umbelliflora)

Outplanted my first Bong Tree (Nothaphoebe umbelliflora). This is grown from a few ripe fruits that was gathered from the mother tree of Doc Alexis de Manuel's farm at Kidpawan City.

The bark can be made into incense sticks and commonly use in temples in South and Southeast Asia💕🌱🌳

Piris (Garcinia vidalii)

Successfully germinated this Piris (Garcinia vidalii) from a batch of fruits last year. Hopefully I can outplant it this year and it will be the 10th Garcinia species in my collection. 😍🌱🌳

Fruit is very juicy and taste sour.

Limited seedlings will be available soon at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

New species added in my collection. This is Malatapai (Alangium longiflorum). This is native to Philippines and Borneo. Red List of Threatened Species: In 1998 listed as vulnerable. Red ripe fruits are edible. 😍🌱🌳

Mother tree of Malatapai (Alangium longiflorum) located somewhere in Digos City.

Hopefully BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM can propagate some more from this species.

Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata)

Outplanted this batch of Sword Beans (Canavalia gladiata) 4mos ago and they are now producing enough green pods that I let some to mature so I can collect and dried the seeds for future planting. 😍🌱❤️

I have been growing these perennial vines for almost 4 years now.

Dried pod of sword beans ready for picking and extracting the seeds.

Dried seeds can be made into a nutritious powdered drink.

Limited seeds are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.
