Talon-igot (Syzygium macgregorii)

Talon-igot (Syzygium macgregorii). Edible fruits that can be processed into jams and wine. I considered this also as a "flowering" species perfect for local pollinators and for my stingless bees. 🐝❤️🌱

The fruits are a bit smaller compare to Lipote and Duhat/Lomboy.

Outplanted this yesterday as a remembrance on my 38th year on Earth — February 27, 2023. 🌱🌎❤️




Probably a Yakal / Hopea species. Hopefully it will be ID'ed in the future.

Blue Ginger (Dichorisandra thysiflora) sent to me by a fellow plant enthusiast from Batangas, Philippines. This is native to North, Central & South America. This light shade loving plant boasts truly stunning and strikingly beautiful deep royal blue long-lasting flowers. 😍🌱❤️



Potted already for propagation.



The first time I saw its flowers I can say it's very unique! Excited to spread them in the sanctum.

Malaigang (Syzygium panduriforme)

One of my Malaigang (Syzygium panduriforme). Successfully germinated this from ripe fruits last December 2020. The fruits are edible just like the Lipote.

Jicama (Pachyrhizus erosus)

Fresh Jicama (Pachyrhizus erosus) commonly known in the Philippines as Singkamas. A grain-free, high carb superfood rich in Vitamin C and prebiotic fibers. πŸ˜‹



I always plant the wildlings that grows from seeds of the broken matured pods. In that way, I always have a supply of fresh jicama whenever I need it.

Alupag (Dimocarpus didyma)

With a good rain for 3 days, time to outplant my first Alupag (Dimocarpus didyma). 



This is an endemic fruit of the Philippines that looks similar to its relatives — Lychee and Longgan. Conservation status of Alupag is "Vulnerable". ❤️🌱🌳

New Avocado in my collection

Additional on my Avocado collection. No idea of the variety as it is given only to me by my cousin but I am fascinated by this fruit so I'm always interested to plant from different sources. Let's see what it got after 36 months. πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘

Bismarck Palm (Bismarckia nobilis)

Bismarck Palm (Bismarckia nobilis). Limited seedlings are available. 



These are grown for its striking foliage color and texture. The persistent leaf bases are split, creating an attractive pattern on the trunk. Very easy to grow. 😍🌱🌴

Mapilig (Xanthostemon bracteatus)

Very fast germination of the Mapilig (Xanthostemon bracteatus) seeds in the common pot. Conservation status of this hardwood flowering species is "Endangered". I was able to outplant 2 pcs last year and hoping to add some more in the future from this batch. 😍🌱🌳
