A variety of Taro

I believe that this is a variety of Colocasia esculenta where it is much bigger in size and every part of the plant is edible — from its leaves, stem, corm and stolons. The native variety grows wild on swampy areas and it is smaller compare to this.

The best part to harvest is the unexpanded young leaves.

Big leaves used for local dish "La-ing".

Palawan Ypil (Intsia palembanica)

The ground is still wet from the other nights downpour so took the opportunity to drop 3 pcs Palawan Ypil (Intsia palembanica), with a heavy mulch of coconut husk preparing to withstand the dry days of summer. ❤️🌱🌳

Limited seedlings of 3ft high still available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

Barbadine (Passiflora quadrangularis)

It took 3 months for the Barbadine (Passiflora quadrangularis) fruits to ripen.

Taste sweet and smells like a melon. πŸ˜‹πŸŒ±πŸ’•

300 Year Old Toog Tree

The centennial Toog (Petersianthus quadrialatus) tree in Brgy. Alegria, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur is bound to be cut dead for good if the final assessment of its status will be proven hazardous to the community where it stands proud for hundreds of years. We, at Society of Native Tree Advocates (SONATA) is supporting any means necessary to keep this majestic Toog tree alive not only for us Mindanaoans but for the entire country. Help us #SaveTheToog!

Casa de Walopis

@ Casa de Walopis, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. An Agro-forestry paradise portal of SONATA MASTER and NNTE founder Atty. Carlo Ancla. ❤️🌱🌳

The simple farm house that we stayed, jamming and sleept overnight is an amazing experience!

The straight bole species are lined-up within the perimeter of the farmhouse. These various diptero species are outplanted by Atty. Carlo himself on 2015.

The central portion of the whole farm area is planted with a variety of fruiting species like the rare collections of Durian.

One of the rare fruit collection at the Casa de Walopis is the Cempedak.
