One of the first few species that I successfully germinated from seeds is this Balitbitan (Cynometra ramiflora). This is way back 2019 and outplanted first quarter of 2020. 😍🌱🌳

A young Balitbitan showcasing its unique beauty even at a young age.

Limited seedlings are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

Mondo Saba Banana Variety

Harvested a bunch of Golden Mondo Sab-a variety. Best serve if ripe and then boiled. It has a longer shelf life compared to Cardava banana.

Among the banana that can be boiled this is the tastiest. πŸ˜‹πŸŒ❤️

Limited suckers are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

Gasi-gasi (Tristiropsis acutangula)

Took so long for my Gasi-gasi (Tristiropsis acutangula) seeds to germinate and finally on their individual polybag now. Works effectively for me is the sow and forget method. 😁🌱🌳

Fruits of Gasi-gasi from the mother tree. Very limited info regarding this species and its edibility.

Outplanted already a single specimen of this species for conservation at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

White Ginger Lily / Butterfly Lily (Hedychium coronarium)

Splitting the White Ginger Lily / Butterfly Lily (Hedychium coronarium) for addtional propagation. These are successfully grown from seeds couple of years ago.

In China it is cultivated for use in medicine and production of aromatic oil, due to the strong characteristic fragrance of the flowers, said to be reminiscent of jasmine. 😍🌱❤️

Limited planting materials are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

Mindanao Bleeding Heart Pigeon (Gallicolumba crinigera)

Spotted a nest of Mindanao Bleeding Heart Pigeon (Gallicolumba crinigera) under the canopy of Ardisia squamulosa and my Mulberries. This is a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and illegal hunting in the wild.

With lots of bird magnet tree species I planted, I will be expecting more of them to visit here at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM in the future. 🌳🌳🐦🐦

Igem (Dacrycarpus imbricatus)

My first Igem (Dacrycarpus imbricatus) on the ground. It is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 50 metres tall. A valuable timber tree, it is commonly harvested from the wild and traded internationally. The wood is fine-grained, resistant to termites and insects. It's been a challenge growing this on low altitude along with Almaciga and Tinikaran.

For highland reforestation species, you can inquire at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM for the availability of this species.

Mangostana (Garcinia kydia)

My Garcinia kydia after 6mos on the ground. 😍🌱🌳

Outplanted from a tiny and barely a foot high seedling last November of 2022.

Alibangbang (Piliostigma malabaricum)

Alibangbang (Piliostigma malabaricum), grown from seeds last year from the mother tree pic below. As a hedgerow plant, it contributes to soil stabilization and conservation.

Used as a hedge plant in the Philippines. The young leaves have a sour flavour. They are used as a lime-flavoured condiment for soups etc. They can be eaten raw as a side dish with rice. They are cooked in a soup to give a good smell and flavour. πŸ’•πŸŒ±πŸŒ³

Limited seedlings are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.
