Hong Kong Orchid Tree

One of the oldest flowering tree that is thriving here is this Bauhinia × blakeana, commonly called the Hong Kong orchid tree. It was planted in the 70's. In Hong Kong the leaf is known as the "clever leaf"  and is regarded as a symbol of wisdom.
