Gmelina philippensis

My lone Parrots beak/Bulangan (Gmelina philippensis) doing good after 3 months on the open ground. I have managed to germinate only 1 from the batch of seeds that was sent to me last year. So glad to see it's doing well even with the wet climate here.

It is a woody climbing vine with gorgeous flowers.

This is how small it is when I outplanted it last January 4, 2022.

Just a newly germinated baby last September 2021.

It wont take long for this to propagate soon as this species is a fast growing. Check more of my plants on BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

My lone Mararing (Xantophyllum amoenum) is slowly but surely going up after 17mos on the open ground.

Interior of Mararing fruit with fleshy white pulp like of Santol (Sandoricum koetjape) or cotton fruit.

This photo was taken October 2020 when I dropped the Mararing seedling on its final spot in an open ground.

Collage of the Mararing fruit for reference.

Dungon (Heritiera sylvatica)

Dropped my first Dungon (Heritiera sylvatica). This is a large tree reaching up to 45mtrs in height. It is recommended for steamed bentwork where strength and durability are required. Due to the toughness of the wood, it is favored for bulletproof shields. One of the prize-trees in the Philippines due to its toughness and durability.

Applied heavy mulching for the anticipation of the coming dry season.

These are the germinants last December 2020. Finally I got to outplant one of them already after 13 months.

Planting White Lauan

Dropped additional 5 White Lauan (Shorea contorta). One was a replacement and planted on the decaying Narra stump that was harvested long ago.

This is a replacement of the Narra tree that was harvested long ago.

Most of this White Lauan are planted along the boundary line of the property to act as a wind-breaker.
