Balitbitan (Cynometra ramiflora)

One of the most unique native tree species is Balitbitan (Cynometra ramiflora), with its new leaves are color pink. This tree can grow upto 20mtrs tall. The species is cultivated for ornamental purposes, and the leaves, roots and seeds are harvested for use in traditional medicine. 😍🌱🌳

Turning 5 years old next month. This is one of my Narig (Vatica mangachapoi). Acquired this during pandemic days of 2020 and outplanted October 2020. Conservation status is "Endangered". 😍🌱💚

Batbat palm (Arenga undulatifolia)

Batbat palm (Arenga undulatifolia). Will be outplanting them soon near the river. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food (Ubod is edible) and source of materials. All species in this genus have either recognized or potential ornamental value. 💚🌱🌴

Piris (Garcinia vidalii)

Doing good after 1 year on the ground. This is Piris (Garcinia vidalii). Fruit is edible with a sour taste. 😍🌱🌳

 

Yakal (Shorea astylosa)

The endangered Yakal (Shorea astylosa). I outplanted a single specimen way back in 2021. I will be outplanting these at the newly cleared area as a back-up specimen. 💚🌱🌳

Alibangbang (Piliostigma malabaricum)

Seeds of Alibangbang (Piliostigma malabaricum) for germination. I have a flourishing 3 year old specimen for future source of seeds. This is native to the Philippines. It's leaves are used as a souring agent for local dish. 😍🌱🌳

Aquilaria crassna

Limited seedlings available! This is the critically endangered Aquilaria crassna. Aquilaria crassna is one source of agarwood, a resinous heartwood, used for perfume and incense. In my personal observation this is fast growing compare to other agarwood producing species. This is native to Southeast Asia. 😍🌱🌳

Batikuling (Litsea leytensis)

Outplanted new Batikuling (Litsea leytensis) as my replacement to my 4 year old specimen that was badly hit by the drought last year and didn't survive. Batikuling wood is highly valued by wood carvers in the Philippines particularly in Paete Laguna. 💚🌱🌳

Anuping (Gymnacranthera farquhariana)

This is my Anuping (Gymnacranthera farquhariana) one of our native nutmeg species. Outplanted this last June and due to wet season the weeds are fast growing covering it quickly. Be sure to monitor your young seedlings in the field even twice a month. 😍🌱🌳
