My 2 year old Pamitoyen (Calophyllum pentapetalum). 😍🌱🌳

One of the best flowering tree that is growing at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM. This will serve its purpose for the local pollinators.

Aquilaria crassna

Rainy days means planting. This is Aquilaria crassna. The aromatic resin obtained from this tree is one of the most famous and most expensive on the planet known as the Agarwood. 

Agar-wood oil is a yellow to dark amber, viscous liquid with a characteristic balsamic and woody odour. It is used in luxury perfumery. ❤️🌱🌳

Conservation status is Critically endangered.

A finish product of agarwood oil used in perfumery.

Togi (Dioscorea esculenta var spinosa)

Time to harvest after 2 years. Root crops can play a vital role in household food security. Unlike rice, which is relatively labor- and land-intensive, root crops grow even in unfavorable conditions. It can withstand droughts and typhoons just like this Togi (Dioscorea esculenta var spinosa).

4 weeks more and some young hens will start laying eggs. 🦃🦃🦃

Karaksan (Chionanthus ramiflorus)

This is the native olive in the Philippines called Karaksan (Chionanthus ramiflorus). It's been growing well in the pot for a year but found a good spot for it to be grounded. 😍🌱🌳

Cedar Bay Cherry (Eugenia reinwardtiana)

Drought stress induces flowering for this 3 year old Cedar Bay Cherry (Eugenia reinwardtiana). It is a shrub to small tree in the family Myrtaceae. Native to tropical forests in northern Queensland, Indonesia, and the Pacific Islands. The edible fruit is a good source of antioxidants. ❤️🌱🌳

Thunder Mountain Longhorn pepper

Will try to germinate the seeds of the worlds longest pepper. Thunder Mountain Longhorn pepper, which averages about 20,000 to 40,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), was originally grown in the Leigongshan Mountains in China. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Kayong (Glochidion littorale). One of the Keystone species. A keystone species is an organism that helps hold the system together. Without its keystone species, ecosystems would look very different. Kumquat (Citrus japonica)

Flowering time for Kumquat (Citrus japonica). This is my 3 year old specimen which was attacked by fungus last year that prompted me to defoliate and pruned the infected branches. I never applied chemicals, I just let nature take its course. 💕🍊😋

Outplanted this specimen May of 2021.

Sawarri Nut (Caryocar nuciferum)

Rainy season here has begun and it's time to outplant my lone specimen of Suwari/Sawarri Nut (Caryocar nuciferum). It is a fruit tree native to northern Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guyana, Panama, and Venezuela. 😍🌱🌳

Huge flower of Caryocar nuciferum.

The kernel insise the seed is edible and much sweeter compare to Almonds.

Acai palm (Euterpe oleracea)

One of my Acai palm (Euterpe oleracea) doing well @2.5years on the ground. The 2 months of drought seems okay for it. Successfully germinated this from a batch of seeds in 2020 and outplanted November of 2021.😍🌱❤️

Golden Mondo Banana

With the start of rain comes also the planting of some Mondo Banana. My favorite Banana. 💕🍌😋

Some  suckers need to outplant to produce some more new hills of this delicious banana vaiety.

The appearance is golden yellow. This banana is best serve boiled.

Engkalak (Litsea garciae)

My Engkalak (Litsea garciae) will turn 4 years old this June 2024, because of water stress its branches are loaded with small fruits already. 😍🌱🌳

It stands more than 20ft tall already.

The screenshot shows the day (June 11,2020) I outplanted the seedling. 

The ripe fruit is rich in Vitamin C, Potassium,  Fibers and antioxidants.
