Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica)

The Bocaue/Bagakay bamboo (Schizostachyum lima) is out of control for 4 years, pushing away and depriving sunlight to my 7 year old fruiting Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica). This is the first fruiting of Loquat after 7 years on the ground reaching a height of more than 20ft tall. 😍🌱🌳

Bagakay bamboo clump at 4 years old. It can teach upto 15ft tall with a small size stem.

Freed at last. So I will be expecting lots of fruits for next year.

Outplanted this specimen dayed October 17, 2017.

Popwan (Artocarpus anisophyllus)

This is my second time to try this Popwan (Artocarpus anisophyllus). A close relative of Marang, Gumihan, Kamansi and Kolo. 😋

The taste is sweet with a texture like of a banana with a hint of citrus.

Hopefully BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM can outplant a few seedlings of this species from last year's successful germinants from the seeds of a single ripe fruit.

Langkawas (Alpinia galanga)

Coping with the demand by harvesting and planting of Langkawas (Alpinia galanga). All parts of galangal are used as an ingredient in the food. It is used to add flavour and spice to the food. The flowers can be used as a seasoning or as the main constituent in soups, salads, sweet dishes, main courses, and drinks. The roots of galangal can be brewed to make tea.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

I love the aroma of Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). Commercially, the plant is used to produce lavender essential oil used in balms, salves, perfumes, cosmetics, and topical applications. This herb has also been used as a remedy for a range of ailments from insomnia and anxiety to depression and fatigue.

Bonfire Tree (Firmiana colorata)

Alive again! This is my potted Bonfire tree or Scarlet sterculia (Firmiana colorata). I almost throw the stump upon seeing it dried and dead during the El Niño but prefer to set asside to wait for a miracle in the rainy season. And here it is...
