Soap nut/Soap Berry (Trigonachras cultrata)

Rebagging some Soap nut/Soap Berry (Trigonachras cultrata).

The drupes (soapnuts) contain saponins, which have surfactant properties, having been used for washing by ancient Asian and American peoples.

This species has gone viral last September wherein a certain community in Davao accidentally discovered its uses as a replacement for commercial soap in washing their clothes.

Limited seedlings for planting are available at BORIS PRIVATE SANCTUM.

Busy bee enjoying the flowers of Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) or locally known as "Kadyos".

I have been growing this species for more than 3 years now.

Pigeon peas are the main ingredient of a very popular dish called "KBL" - an acronym for "Kadyos" (pigeon pea), "Baboy" (pork), and "Langka" (jackfruit). Pigeon peas make a well-balanced meal and hence are favored by nutritionists as an essential ingredient for balanced diets. 😍🌱🌳
