Blue Java "Ice cream" Banana for outplanting soon. We do have this variety since the early 2000's but only a single hill left from which I have saved from the dying mother plants due to heavy shade. Hopefully this will be my back-up plant to ensure I will never lose this variety.
This is native to Southeast Asia and is a hybrid of two species of banana native to Southeast Asia — Musa balbisiana and Musa acuminata. It is known for its sweet aromatic fruit, which is said to have an ice cream-like consistency and flavor reminiscent of vanilla. 😋🌱🍌
